Congenital cystic hepatic degeneration in a lamb
In a 3 months old, cross breed lamb increase of the liver size was observed along with a very rough and irregular surface.
When sectioned the liver parenchyma showed multiple irregular ductal dilatations (cholangiectasy) and cystic cavities filled with greenish liquid.
Histopathological examination revealed a widespread proliferation of irregular cavities lined by ductal biliary epithelium and associated with also widespread intense interstitial fibrosis. Liver parenchyma was observed in a small proportion but it had a normal appearance.
The lesion was classified as congenital hepatic cystic degeneration . Diagnosis of neoplasia or parasitic cysts was ruled out.

This sounds like a ductal plate malformation to me
