Samples were submitted to SESC of a large mass in the cervico-thoracic region of a 2 years old mixed breed sow, which displaced the trachea.

The mass was soft, of whitish colouration and with presence of haemorrhages and yellowish areas. The lymph nodes were enlarged and indured. Meat inspectors suspected of a neoplastic process.

Histopathological examination of the mass revealed thymus tissue infiltrated by a neoplastic proliferation of lymphoid cells. Since lymph nodes were also altered a diagnostic of multicentric lymphoma was established.

Large nodular lesion in the cervico-thoracic region.

Detail of the sectioned mass yellowish areas correspond microscopically to areas of necrosis.
