In a lamb, male, 3 months old, carcass, the skeletal musculature had a pale/witish appearance and was edematous when sectioned.

The histopathological study showed that it was a case of Zenker's hyaline degeneration, otherwise known as white muscle disease, consists in the degeneration and necrosis of muscle fibers with  mineralization (hence the whitish coloration).
