This project continues and adds valueto the results of a series of previous projects from the INTERREG POCTEFA call that focused on prions: RedPrion, TransPrion, ConCOTSA, and COTSA. In this call, the consortium expands its scope to other neurodegenerative diseases that share mechanisms of protein misfolding (tauopathies, alphasynucleinopathies, etc.). On this occasion, from IRTA-CReSA, the line of research on animal prion diseases of the animal health program, led by Dr. Enric Vidal, participates for the first time as an official partner of the consortium.

The general objectives of the project are:
- To establish the determinants of the clinical diversity of prion diseases (from a One Health approach) and other neurodegenerative diseases caused by misfolded proteins.
- To advance in the development of early diagnosis approaches and disease progression markers for prions and prion-like diseases.
- To create a cross-border network between specialist doctors, research institutions, and patient associations involved in research on these diseases.

Dr. Rosa Bolea, from UNIZAR, reviews the project objectives during the meeting.
