Students from the school Torre de la Llebre of Rubí visit us to make a scientific videogame

Students from the public primary school Torre de la Llebre of Rubí participate in the contest “Scientists in play”, in which they have to design a videogame about science.

The project “Scientists in play” is a school competition promoted by the Government of Catalonia, which consists of designing a video game about a Catalan active researcher. The students of the CEIP Torre de la Llebre have chosen to make the videogame about the researcher Dr. Llilianne Ganges, of the subprogram of exotic diseases and expert in Classical Swine Fever and Pestiviruses.

La Llilianne els va explicar en què consisteix la recerca i la sanitat animal.

Llilianne explained what is about science and the animal health.

The children were able to visit the facilities of the center and they listened carefully to Llilianne, who explained what is the work as a scientist and what do researchers investigate at IRTA-CReSA. After that, they then did a small microbiology workshop in which they compared the microorganisms of clean hands and dirty hands, as well as those in the mouth and those that may have been found on the floor of the shoes, with the help of Mònica Alberch, José Alejandro Bohórquez, Miaomiao Wang and Marina Torres. All this will help you to better design your video game. We’re looking forward to see the results!
