IRTA-CReSA to participate in the 14th Congress of the Spanish Society of Animal Laboratory Sciences (SECAL)
The Spanish Society of Animal Laboratory Sciences (SECAL) brings together all those professionals whose activity is related to the laboratory animal. People whose relationship or work with the animals used in experimental projects is developed in Research Centers both public and private, as well as universities and companies dedicated almost exclusively to the production and marketing of animals to be used in this type of studies.
5th Iberian Congress on Prions, Barcelona
The next 28 and 29 November 2016, Barcelona takes over Lisbon and organizes the 5th Iberian Congress on prions. This annual meeting brings together researchers and professionals involved in the study of prion diseases both from the medical and veterinary fields in the Iberian Peninsula. It also features the participation of researchers focused on studying the structure of these peculiar proteins.
What impact does research in animal health have in society?
On Monday 25th July I participated as a speaker at the 1st Conference on Social Impact of Science, held in Barcelona, specifically in the historical building of the University of Barcelona in Plaça Universitat. It is the first time a conference of this kind has been organized and with the participation, direct or indirect, of up to three Nobel Prize awardees. It was a very rewarding experience, because I was invited to the Combat diseases section to discuss the social impact of research in animal health.
XVIII UAB and AVPC PORCINE CONFERENCE
The next 27, 28 and 29 January 2016 the XVIII UAB and AVPC porcine Conference will be held in the auditorium of the UAB’s Veterinary Faculty.
XIV Virology Meeting
On the 30th of November 2015 the XIV Virology Meeting was held at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC), in Barcelona. Dr Juana Díez (DCEXS, Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and Dr Rosa M. Pintó (Departament de Microbiologia de la Universitat de Barcelona) were the organizers, and researchers from different virology fields attended the meeting.
First Cystinet International Conference
The First Cystinet International Conference took place on 3-4 November 2015 in Belgrade (Serbia).
XXIV ENIVD Meeting
From 19 to 21 October 2015 it was held the XXIV ENIVD Meeting in Thessaloniki (Greece). ENIVD is the European Network for Diagnostics of Imported Viral Diseases. This annual event brings together the ENIVD members from different European countries. IRTA-CReSA is a member of the network and Dr. Júlia Vergara Alert attended the meeting as a representative of the center.
XXVII Meeting of the Spanish Society of Veterinary Pathology (SEAPV)
The following 17, 18 and 19th of June, 2015, the XXVII Meeting of the Spanish Society of Veterinary Pathology will be held in Barcelona, in the iconic headquarters of the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC).
