CReSA, a center of excellence in research in the area of veterinary science
The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology – FECYT -, a public sector foundation that depends on the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, has recently published a report entitled Análisis ICONO: Principales instituciones de investigación excelentes por áreas de conocimiento. 2005-2014 (Major excellence research institutions by knowledge area 2005-2014).

The next 27, 28 and 29 January 2016 the XVIII UAB and AVPC porcine Conference will be held in the auditorium of the UAB’s Veterinary Faculty.

XIV Virology Meeting
On the 30th of November 2015 the XIV Virology Meeting was held at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (IEC), in Barcelona. Dr Juana Díez (DCEXS, Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and Dr Rosa M. Pintó (Departament de Microbiologia de la Universitat de Barcelona) were the organizers, and researchers from different virology fields attended the meeting.

Proved an effective vaccine for MERS-CoV in camels
An international research with the participation of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Center for Research in Animal Health IRTA-CReSA has designed a vaccine that has been shown to be effective in camels against the coronavirus (CoV) that causes the respiratory syndrome of the Middle East.

First Cystinet International Conference
The First Cystinet International Conference took place on 3-4 November 2015 in Belgrade (Serbia).

XXIV ENIVD Meeting
From 19 to 21 October 2015 it was held the XXIV ENIVD Meeting in Thessaloniki (Greece). ENIVD is the European Network for Diagnostics of Imported Viral Diseases. This annual event brings together the ENIVD members from different European countries. IRTA-CReSA is a member of the network and Dr. Júlia Vergara Alert attended the meeting as a representative of the center.

Experience and history of the 1th FCM basic course from CReSA
We are Raquel Maeso and Lorena Córdoba, we are laboratory technichians and the persons in charge for the Cytometry Service of the CReSA. Last March we taught the first Flow Cytometry (FCM) basic course at CReSA.
